Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Bridgeport

Tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Bridgeport, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut students paid $33,055 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $805 more than the $32,250 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 542 students received grants or scholarships totaling $14.1 million and 430 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,485), 2,518 students used grants or scholarships totaling $56.5 million, and 2,026 students took out $22.5 million in federal student loans.
