Jim Himes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and known for representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, has recently expressed his opinions on various issues through a series of tweets. On March 24, 2025, Himes commented on a statement made by Tulsi Gabbard regarding the handling of classified information. He noted, "Last week, Tulsi Gabbard said 'any unauthorized release of classified information is a violation of law and will be treated as such.' By the Trump admin’s own 'standards' everyone on this chain would lose their access to classified info and be subject to criminal investigation."

On March 25, 2025, in another tweet, Himes addressed the importance of accountability within military circles. He stated, "Accountability is essential to military culture. Imagine what service members think as they watch the man who holds their lives in his hands lie, deflect and shirk responsibility."

Later that day, Himes reflected on the differences in values being imparted to young individuals, stating, "When I was growing up, we were taught that when you make a mistake you apologize and try to do better. These days the most powerful people on the planet are teaching our children to not apologize and attack the reporter."
