Jim Himes, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, recently shared updates on his official activities and political views through a series of posts on his social media account.

On July 17, 2025, Himes highlighted a ceremonial moment in the House: "Such a thrill to have Rev. Lindsay Curtis of Norwalk’s Grace Baptist Church deliver the opening prayer in the House this morning. What a day!"

Later that evening, on July 18, 2025, he addressed national policy issues with another post: "You know what people are forgetting about this whole Epstein mess? Trump and his acolytes are taking away healthcare from 17 million Americans."

In the early hours of July 18, Himes commented on the legislative process: "Don’t love voting well past midnight, but the cookies do ease the passage."

Himes has served as Connecticut's representative in Congress since replacing Chris Shays in 2009. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1966 and currently resides in Cos Cob. Himes is also an alumnus of Harvard University, graduating with a BA in 1988.
