Jim Himes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 4th district since 2009, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. Born in Lima, Peru, in 1966 and currently residing in Cos Cob, Himes is an alumnus of Harvard University, having graduated with a BA in 1988.
On May 6, 2025, Himes shared a declassified report via Twitter stating that "the intelligence community DOES NOT believe that Venezuela directs Tren de Aragua." He highlighted discrepancies between this report and statements made by the President and Tulsi Gabbard, who runs the Intelligence Community (IC).
Later that day, Himes posted another tweet saying "27 million dead Soviets would like a word…." This brief statement alludes to historical losses suffered by the Soviet Union during World War II.
On May 8, 2025, Himes expressed his satisfaction with infrastructure progress through another tweet. He stated he was "very happy to be part of this bunch" referring to efforts to rebuild the Norwalk 95 bridge swiftly. He emphasized that such speed should become standard practice rather than an exception.
