Jim Himes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, has been vocal on social media about various political issues. On March 19, 2025, he addressed actions he perceives as threats to democracy and discussed ongoing political distractions.

On March 19, 2025, Jim Himes tweeted a critique directed at Stephen regarding his alleged "daily illegal actions," which Himes views as an assault on democracy. He stated that respecting the law would allow federal judges to focus on other matters rather than hindering what he describes as a march towards autocracy. In another tweet posted shortly after, Himes referenced his efforts to protect Medicaid while questioning if recent events were merely distractions from more pressing issues. He asked rhetorically whether new information had emerged regarding JFK's assassination or if it was intended to divert attention from current controversies. "So I’ve been a little busy trying to save Medicaid..."

The following day, March 20, 2025, Himes responded to inquiries about constitutional interpretation by citing Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution and historical case law. He also pointed out what he sees as inconsistency in reactions to judicial decisions, noting a lack of similar concern when courts halted President Biden's student loan forgiveness plan.
