Jim Himes, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut's 4th district since 2009, shared his views on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Born in Lima, Peru, in 1966 and currently residing in Cos Cob, Himes graduated from Harvard University in 1988 with a BA.

On February 1, 2025, Himes expressed concerns regarding Patel's recent actions: "Patel spent last week running away from that record and promising the Senate that he wouldn't politicize or weaponize the FBI, but this purge makes clear that was a lie. For the sake of our security, this cannot stand."

In another tweet on February 2, 2025, Himes commented on potential economic changes under Mr. Trump: "So if I’m following this correctly, next week Mr Trump will raise the price of fruit, vegetables, cars, lumber and energy by 25% or so. And next month he will cut the US corporate tax rate from 21% to 15%. Ok then."

Later that day on February 2nd, Himes criticized what he perceives as a lack of leadership qualities: "What really irritates me about this is not the sheer mindless wrongness of his facts. It’s the non-stop whiny grievance after grievance after grievance. Leaders are confident, gracious and strong. Not whiny and small."
