This is an important public safety traffic announcement from the Trumbull Police Department. The 22nd Annual Connecticut United Motorcycle Ride, Connecticut's largest 9/11 tribute sponsored by the Uniform Professional Firefighters of Connecticut, will take place this Sunday, September 11, 2022.
The ride will travel into Trumbull from Monroe on Route 25 South, then turn Southerly onto Route 111 (Main Street). The ride will then travel into Bridgeport.
Motorists should expect road closures and significant delays along this route from approximately 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
The CT United Ride is a motorcycle ride honoring those who lost their lives, those who gave their lives, and those who continue to put their lives on the line each day as a result of the tragedies occurring on 9/11.
Once again, there will be a Spectator Patriotic Participation Award!! To encourage the public’s participation, three local sponsors have donated to a separate fund, which will award a charitable donation to the town with the most spectators out along the route, combined with the most red, white, and blue patriotic support display. The winning town will have the First Selectman/Mayor choose a charity of their choice to receive a $2500.00 charitable donation. Thank you to the The CT United Ride Spectator Patriotic Participation Award sponsors: R STONE CO LLC, Wendy's of Fairfield County, and Cardinale Auto Service.
The Town of Trumbull won the Spectator Patriotic Participation Award 2021 and a charity will be chosen to receive the award. Let’s win it again! Please join us as we welcome the ride as it travels through Trumbull. The ride should arrive at the Route 25/111 intersection at about 12:15 PM and continue down Main Street towards Bridgeport. Wear your red, white, and blue, and wave your flag to show your support!
