Jim Himes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, posted a series of tweets in October 2025 addressing topics ranging from local events to international incidents and online discourse.

On October 18, Himes shared a brief message referencing an event in Stamford: "One sign to rule them all. #Stamford #NoKingsOct18 https://t.co/8eOjqDUHj7".

Later that day, he commented on attacks involving boats in the Caribbean, raising concerns about legality and due process: "This is because the attacks on the boats in the Caribbean have been illegal. If the survivors had appeared in either court or a military tribunal that would have instantly been made clear.

Look, you can cheer the deaths of drug runners if you want. But that shouldn’t negate our https://t.co/OJrY0931sZ" (October 18).

On October 20, Himes addressed issues related to online commentary and spelling errors regarding foreign countries: "The community note is priceless.

Also, this may be a quibble, but if you’re going to incinerate people from a country you say is a narco-terrorist state, maybe learn how to spell the name of said country? https://t.co/JygSFyAttA".

Himes has represented Connecticut’s 4th District since replacing Chris Shays in 2009 and currently resides in Cos Cob. Born in Lima, Peru in 1966, he graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1988.
