First Selectman Tesoro Statement on Sale of the Westfield Trumbull Mall
We have been aware that the Westfield Trumbull Mall property has been for sale for some time. Today we learned from Westfield that the sale of the Mall property has closed, and while we do know the identity of the purchaser, they have not been in contact with us as of yet.

However, we are eager to work with the new mall ownership to ensure a bright future for the mall property and the surrounding area.

The Town will be kicking off the Trumbull Mall Area Market Feasibility and Land Use Study in February, and we anticipate that the new owners will be active participants in developing a vision for the future along with the broader community.

We expect, and the community deserves, that the new owners will invest in the mall property to create a safe and vibrant destination experience for our residents to enjoy.
