Fairfield County ranked first in Connecticut for resident earnings in 2019

Fairfield County ranked first among counties in Connecticut by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Fairfield County residents was $40,609 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 340,189 households with a population of 943,926.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Windham County with $32,078 per year after adjusting for inflation – $8,531 less than Fairfield County. It had 44,953 households with a population of 116,566.
