The US Economic Development Administration awarded the Shelton Economic Development Corporation a grant worth $140,000 to help fund a project in Fairfield County.

The grant was awarded on Dec. 16. The EDA describes the grant as follows:

"This EDA planning investment supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) in the region served by the Shelton Economic Development Corporation. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy."
