A matchup between Sacred Heart and Saint Peter’s is set for Saturday, February 14, at the Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. The game is the only meeting this season between the two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., with live coverage available on ESPN+.

Sacred Heart enters the contest having secured a postseason berth and currently shares fourth place in the conference standings. The team closed its non-conference schedule with a 2-7 record but improved to 9-6 in MAAC play. Senior guard Amelia Wood leads Sacred Heart, scoring double figures in 20 of 24 games this season and averaging 14 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounds (6.4 per game), assists (53), steals (54), and blocks (25). Junior forward Nalyce Dudley averages 12.5 points per game, shooting nearly 45 percent from the field and increasing her efficiency inside the arc to just over 49 percent. Freshman point guard Sophie Nascimento has contributed an average of 9.3 points per game in conference matchups and has averaged more than ten points over her last eleven games.

The Pioneers have been effective offensively, making nearly 39 percent of their shots overall, including over a hundred three-pointers this season. However, they continue to face challenges with ball control, averaging more than eighteen turnovers per game.

Saint Peter’s recently earned its sixth conference win with a narrow victory against Rider and currently sits tied for ninth place in the league standings. The team averages just under fifty-three points per game while allowing opponents more than sixty-three points on average. Junior forward De’Naya Rippey leads Saint Peter’s with averages of nearly thirteen points and eight rebounds per game.

Saturday’s contest marks the fourteenth meeting between Sacred Heart and Saint Peter’s since their series began during the 1981-82 season. Saint Peter’s holds a slight edge historically, winning seven out of thirteen prior games—including both meetings last year after Sacred Heart joined the MAAC.

Following Saturday’s matchup, Sacred Heart will return home for two final regular-season games at Pitt Center next week.
