The Sacred Heart University men’s soccer team was ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches Division I East Regional Rankings, according to an Oct. 22 announcement from the university.

This marks the first time this season that Sacred Heart has appeared in the regional rankings, highlighting a strong performance during conference play.

The Pioneers have maintained an unbeaten record of 6-0-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matches. The team’s success has been attributed to notable contributions from players Danny Istambouli, David Garcia Gallego, and Ivan Morcillo, as well as important results against leading conference opponents. Head coach Anthony Anzevui has overseen the team’s progress throughout the season.

According to the university, “the climb into the regional top 10 reflects the team’s growth, depth, and consistency under head coach Anthony Anzevui, as the Pioneers push toward postseason contention in the final stretch of the regular season.”

Sacred Heart is scheduled to play its next match on October 29 at Park Ave Field against Iona.
