Sacred Heart University baseball announced its 2026 schedule on Dec. 17, featuring a mix of non-conference and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) games as the team continues under head coach Pat Egan.
The schedule includes 51 regular season games, with the Pioneers set to play 20 home games and 31 on the road. The season will begin on Feb. 13 with a three-game series at North Florida, marking the first meeting between the two programs. Sacred Heart will then travel to ETSU for another inaugural matchup before facing NC State in a non-conference series. The game against NC State is notable as it will be their first regular-season meeting; previously, they played each other in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament at Doak Field at Dail Park.
March brings both non-conference and MAAC contests, including games against URI, Yale, Quinnipiac, Boston College, and Central Connecticut State. The Pioneers’ home opener is scheduled for March 6-8 against Rider at Veterans Park. A split weekend series with Bryant will take place in both Smithfield, Rhode Island and Fairfield later that month.
Conference play intensifies in April and May with home MAAC series against Merrimack, Siena, and CCSU. Road trips include visits to Manhattan, Iona, and Marist. Additional midweek matchups are planned against Stony Brook, Yale, and Fordham.
The regular season concludes with a home series versus Fairfield from May 14-16 before postseason play begins. Sacred Heart aims to qualify for the MAAC Playoffs scheduled for May 20–23 at Heritage Financial Park in Dutchess County, New York—the site of the MAAC Baseball Championship for the next three years.
The university said this schedule offers a balance of challenging non-conference opportunities alongside important conference matchups as they look forward to an eventful spring at Veterans Park.
