The Sacred Heart University men’s cross country team finished fourth at the University of Vermont Fall Foliage Invitational on Oct. 20, with Michael Mason leading the team by placing 11th overall.
The result highlights a strong performance for Sacred Heart, as several runners posted competitive times in the eight-kilometer race. Mason narrowly missed a top-10 finish and came close to his season-best time, completing the course in 26:05.3.
Matthew Vene and Giovanni Prestipino also contributed to the team’s score by finishing within the top 25, clocking times under 27 minutes to secure 19th and 22nd place respectively. First-year runner Demetri Franzese continued his impressive debut season by taking 31st overall with a time of 26:57.8.
