The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced on July 29 that Sacred Heart University’s men’s lacrosse and women’s rowing teams had a total of 72 student-athletes named to the 2023-24 Academic Honor Roll. The Pioneers led all MAAC associate members, with men’s lacrosse contributing 40 honorees and women’s rowing adding 32.

The recognition highlights the academic achievements of Sacred Heart’s student-athletes, who maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the honor roll. The MAAC Academic Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate member institutions in the conference.

Both teams also led the conference in All-Academic selections during the spring season, with men’s lacrosse earning 28 honors and rowing receiving 21. This continued success demonstrates a strong commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic performance.

The full list of honored student-athletes includes names from both teams, reflecting their dedication in balancing sports and academics throughout the year.

As Sacred Heart continues to lead among MAAC associate members in academic recognition, these results may encourage further emphasis on academic achievement within collegiate athletics.
