The Sacred Heart University baseball team announced on Oct. 7 that its fall ball schedule has been updated, including the cancellation of a doubleheader and a change in opponents for an upcoming game.

These adjustments are due to expected inclement weather and scheduling changes. The doubleheader originally set for Sunday, October 12 at Bridgeport has been canceled because of the forecasted weather conditions.

Additionally, the Pioneers’ doubleheader against Army has been changed. Instead of playing Army, Sacred Heart will now play a single nine-inning game against Saint John’s Red Storm on Sunday, October 19. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Saint John’s Jack Kaiser Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to check SacredHeartPioneers.com for further updates regarding the team’s schedule.

Previously, the team had planned to open its fall play dates with a local match-up against the University of Bridgeport at Veterans Park on October 12, followed by a trip to West Point to face Army’s Black Knights at Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field on October 19.
