Jim Himes, U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, recently posted a series of tweets reflecting on political developments and public discourse.
On March 13, 2026, Himes commented on alleged political pressure involving Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and former President Donald Trump. He wrote, “… to harass and pressure Powell to yield to Trump.” I’m sure this will be the subject of intense Congressional oversight. Not.”
The following day, March 14, he posted a brief message with personal undertones: “Dad? I crashed the car. Can you come pick me up?”
On March 16, Himes used a rhetorical question in his commentary about political movements: “Hey Siri. What are the signs that a movement is in its death throes?”
Himes has represented Connecticut’s 4th District since replacing Chris Shays in 2009. Born in Lima, Peru in 1966 and currently residing in Cos Cob, he graduated from Harvard University in 1988 with a BA.
