Jim Himes, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 4th district since 2009, has posted a series of comments on his Twitter account addressing recent political developments and controversies.
On April 11, 2026, Himes reacted to an unspecified event or news with a brief post: “Huh. https://t.co/oZS6hBw7Zg”.
The following day, April 12, he commented on changes in Hungary’s leadership and referenced the potential influence of these events elsewhere: “Nope. Sorry. The corrupt, illiberal ethnonationalist is out in Hungary. And this movie is coming to a theater near you. https://t.co/yaGukQP7LA”.
On April 13, Himes addressed the controversy surrounding former President Donald Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, referencing its availability to the public and criticizing perceived partisan responses: “Everyone can read the transcript of Trump’s phone call to extort President Zelenskyy for dirt on Biden. That was an impeachable offense, and no amount of dust kicking and sycophancy can obscure it. Had Joe Biden made that call, Republicans would have burned the place down. https://t.co/xEmCizRzYT”.
Himes has served in Congress since replacing Chris Shays in 2009 and currently resides in Cos Cob. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1966 and graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1988.
