The average cost of midgrade gas in cities within Fairfield County was $4.28 per gallon.
There are 141 gas stations in cities within Fairfield County.
The average price of midgrade gas in Connecticut was $3.96, compared to $4.02 the week before.
The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.
The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.
